Why You Should Take a Risk
Happy Monday, Friends!
I trust that you had a beautiful weekend. Tim and I spent the weekend chasing beauty with dear friends at @ediewadsworth’s live event. It was beautiful beyond words. We met so many lovely women and spent the time in deep conversations centered on beauty and love. I’m sure you’ll hear more about this from me in the coming days. Wink.
Today, I am so honored to be over on Club31Women. I wrote a piece, How Risk-Taking Can Reignite Your Relationship With God, that posted on the site today.
I begin the article with one of the most beautiful moments Tim and I have experienced together:
“He called me from Waterloo Bridge. It was 9:15 am EST. Way too early for the viva, which began at 8, to be done. Tim had traveled back to England to finish the oral examination of his Ph.D. Everything rested on him passing.
As I answered “Hello,” the words, “I passed” scrambled over the line. Then, a barrage of sobs. Tears of joy flowed as Tim recounted to me one of the most profound moments of his life.
The viva examiners had found his Ph.D. work remarkable. The ending was what we had hoped it would be.
This 6’1’’ man stood weeping over Waterloo Bridge as emotions overcame him.
He heard the words, “Well done,” and the adventure was applauded. The risk was rewarded.
I share this story at the beginning of the article to introduce how I’m slowly starting to discover all the beauty that is waiting when we live a life of risk. I’ve never been one to take risks, but God in His wisdom had me marry a risk-taker. And there is so much I am learning:
“When we do things, we might not otherwise do, and listen to that still, small voice that whispers, “Go. Do. Be”.
If we are willing to go against the voice of culture, we discover wonder we would not have otherwise. Adventure awaits those willing to take a risk for the kingdom.”
Would love for you to join me @club31women to see how taking a risk can help us reignite our relationship with God.
You can read the entire article here at Club31 Women: How Risk-Taking Can Reignite Our Relationship With God.
I’ll leave you with these words from the article to meditate on during the week ahead:
“When we step out in faith, the Lord brings us back to Himself. Our hearts are turned to Him. Our relationship with God is deepened.”
Further up, Friends!
