The Thought
There are times in our life when things look hazy. Cloudy. Unclear. Unsure. We don’t know which direction to take. We question what is the next right thing. We debate whether we should take the next step.
What do you do when you don’t know what to do?
I’ve been finding solace in this Scripture this past week. Over and over again my mind returns to its truth. I cling to the hope scrawled across the page, reminding myself: when I don’t know what to do, I look up.
In 2 Chronicles, King Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, is faced with two advancing armies against him: the Moabites and Ammonites. Sprinkle in some Meunites and you find yourself in a real dilemma.
So, what did Jehoshaphat do first in this dilemma? Verse three says, “Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.”
The first face Jehoshaphat sought was the face of God.
