The Thought
Tim and I traveled this weekend to Knoxville, TN. Tim was invited to speak at Edie Wadsworth’s Life Mentoring School graduation. The weekend was lovely in every way. We met so many beautiful women who are pursuing a life of beauty. Women who want to elevate their life for the sake of the kingdom.
When we first arrived on Friday afternoon, we sat in a classroom of the church and talked with Edie over lunch. If you’ve never met Edie, or listened to her talk, you are missing out. Her enthusiasm for life and genuine love for others is contagious.
She loves C.S. Lewis so we had a grand time discussing our favorite works of Lewis. Edie shared her love for The Great Divorce. I love this because this is not one of Lewis’ most common books, but I think it’s one of his best.
It’s a theological novel in which he reflects on the Christian conceptions of Heaven and Hell. It’s brilliant. There are so many exceptional passages within the pages but one of my favorite lines in the book depicts two very different types of people:
