There is No Half-Way
Happy Monday, Friends!
Welcome to my new space at Substack where I will now send my monthly newsletter. I wanted to wish you a great start to your new week. If your weather is anything like ours here in the South, this past week we finally felt the cool weather settle in.
The fall leaves are dancing as they tumble to the ground and the sunlight has shifted. The holidays are around the corner, and I’m feeling the pull to cuddle up around a fire.
Today is the last day for the 20% off discount to Mend, my weekly devotional. It’s been a joy connecting with those of you who have joined so far, and I’m looking forward to any others who might want to join us. Tomorrow another new devotional releases.
Paid subscribers receive 2-3 devotions per week. I wanted an intimate community, where we could enjoy the privacy of searching the Scriptures together, and Substack offered that place. If you are hurting, feel pulled in a thousand different directions, or weary from the battle Mend is for you.

For Non-Paying Subscribers, you will still receive my monthly newsletter, which will continue to include posts about faith, home life, homeschooling, and living the lyrics of the cross. Occasionally, I’ll send out a snippet of the daily devotionals in the hopes that you might decide to come join us.
I wanted to leave you with an encouraging quote I read the other day in Scale How Meditations. It’s a commentary by Charlotte Mason on the Gospel of John. This book is so lovely and insightful, and her writing style is beautiful. I feel as if I have underlined half of the book! Ha.
Mason writes,
“There is no half-way house on the Way of Life. We must venture boldly—worship Him as our God, serve Him as our King, embrace Him as our Saviour—or Christ is nothing to us.”
There is no half-way.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot the last few days. Do I give the Lord my best? Have I jumped in the deep, or am I still hanging out along the shore dipping my toes in?
We must venture boldly. There is no redo. One life is all we have. Christ is all or He is nothing.
May there be no half-way.
Cheers,
Chris
